Explorers Tea Club

Join me for a quarterly (ish) curated and congenial exploration of damn good tea due to the relentless bullying of Mike Lavigne. I am not a tea master, but rather a longtime devoted hobbyist with an unreasonable love of tea and sharing it with others.

Each episode will be made possible by my somewhat compulsive research and network building in the tea world over the last 20 years and leveraging our collective volume and purpose for favorable pricing. Topics will probably be programmed according to a theme such as type, technique, region or historical aspect. The idea is to experience high quality tea together along with education, context and an ongoing community to learn and grow with in a way not accessible to solo drinkers.

Typical episodes will include roughly 100g of tea across 4 types, each focusing on a specific element of the tea world and all of exceptional quality. Some will be excellent daily drinkers, some will be mythical rarities impossible to find without personal connections and most will be notable examples of the type or topic. 25g is enough to get to know a tea, learn to brew it and share with others if you like.

Sources will be listed when possible to encourage an expansion in the collective tea network and patronage of worthy vendors. Especially with the shipping drama these days, getting things through non-commercial channels can be much cheaper if you live in a developing country such as the US.

This isn’t a business or even a side hustle, it’s more like a side dwaddle that might mostly cover it’s own expenses. A friendly group buy with education. Costs will cover the tea, shipping, repackaging and some additional toward further research for following episodes.
